Sunday Mornings at Oakwood...
Our Sunday morning gatherings start at 10.30am, focussing on sung praise & worship, prayer, the bible & a genuine sense of togetherness as a church family. There are no reserved seats, you should feel free to sit wherever you feel comfortable.
On the first Sunday of the month, the children remain in the service, which we endeavor to shape in a more family-friendly manner. The remaining Sundays of the month currently follow a different format. Following a time of sung praise & worship, testimony & encouragement, we then have a short time of fellowship together over coffee or tea. At this time the children go into their various age-appropriate groups. We then continue with the preaching of God’s Word & a time of response.
Children
We want children & families to enjoy coming to Oakwood.
On the first Sunday of the month, the children remain as part of our worship service. On the remaining Sundays, Oakwood Kids takes place each week in various age groups:
*Saplings - for 2-4 year old children
*Seedlings - for 4-7 year old children (school years R to 2)
*Mighty Oaks - for 7-11 year old children (school years 3 to 6)
We also have ‘Tiny Oaks’, a dedicated parent-led creche space for 0-2 year olds.
Getting to know people
On the first Sunday of the month, following the conclusion of the meeting, refreshments are served, providing a great opportunity to meet people & to ask any questions you may have about faith or Oakwood Church. For the remaining Sundays of the month, refreshments are served mid-way through the service, which also provides an opportunity to get to know people better.
Directions & Parking
Our main Sunday gatherings are held at our main building - Oakwood Church, Obridge Road, Taunton, TA2 7PU. We have some car parking on site, with the remainder of parking available on surrounding residential streets.
Disability Access
Oakwood has good disabled access to the building. We also have a hearing loop system and disabled access toilets.
